Irrigation tour

Turia river in the west of the city

La huerta is an irrigated agricultural land. On this visit we will explain the ancient irrigation system through irrigation dams and ditches of the Huerta de Valencia since the Arabs began their development.

The Turia River is a small river that irrigates a large area around the city of Valencia. This is exceptional but also conducive to conflicts in times of water shortage, so this explain the existence of the first court of Europe, El Tribunal de las Aguas, recently declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

In this tour we will visit a section of the river Turia in Valencia where we can see a dam, discover an ancient water mills and walk by La Partida de Dalt de Campanar, an area of la huerta attached to the city with high-value inherited and  a beautiful landscape .
